Cooked in the Cooking Chef
Kenwood’s newest offer, the Cooking Chef KM070, is a triumph of innovative and advanced food preparation technology. The Cooking Chef not only stirs, whisks, beats and kneads your food, but now it can cook your meals too.
The introduction of induction heat technology means that the actual mixing bowl is heated. Temperatures range from 20˚C to 140˚C, so you can go from slowly simmering a stew or gently proving some bread dough to a rolling boil.
There is also a timer, which goes up to three hours, allowing you to throw all the ingredients together, bring it up to heat and program the Cooking Chef to stir — gently or vigorously — while it cooks the food. All you need to do is set the timer and get on with other things.

Risotto with Ham and Cheese
Preparation Time: 1 minute
Cooking time: 15 - 20 minutes
Serves: 4 to 6
• 30ml (2 tbsp) butter (clarified)
• 2 shallots (chopped)
• 360g arborio rice
• 50ml dry white wine
• 650ml vegetable stock
• 100g cooked ham or pancetta (diced)
• 100g gruyère
Attach the Flexi Beater to your Cooking Chef and add the butter. Set the temperature to 140ºC and the stirring speed to 1. When the butter has melted, add the risotto rice and cook for 2 minutes adjusting to stirring speed 2.
Reduce the temperature to 100ºC but maintain the speed to stirring 2. Pour in the wine and continue to stir for 2 minutes or until absorbed.
Add the stock and set the timer for 18 minutes. Add the ham and gruyere, season and serve.
